Laurie’s panel focused on enterprise vertical markets and enterprise applications for M2M — the territory where mobile M2M got its start in the early 2000’s. Now, a over a decade later, it was a pleasure to share the stage with this group of seasoned M2M professionals to provide their insights on how M2M has evolved over the past decade, what’s hot in M2M now, and what even hotter trends lie just over the horizon.

Mobile technologies have finally saturated the enterprise, as evidenced by the throngs of corporate CIO’s and other senior executives prowling the exhibit hall and educational sessions at MobileCON 2012 — CTIA’s renamed fall show, held in San Diego September 9-11, 2012. The conference centered on big themes in enterprise mobility, including “bring you own device” (BYOD), machine-to-machine communications (M2M), location-based services (LBS), long-term evolution networks (LTE), automotive applications, mobile payments and more.
