If you’re attending CTIA’s MobileCon 2012 in San Diego October 9th through 11th, the most important event for you to attend happens the night before the show. Monday night the 8th brings the fourth annual Wireless Hall of Fame Banquet, held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel (five minute walk from the convention center) and hosted by the Wireless History Foundation.
This year, four mobile industry pioneers will be inducted into the Wireless Hall of Fame:
- AT&T Bell Labs engineer Amos Joel
- Former Executive Vice President for enterprise-wide strategic technology initiatives at Verizon Communications Inc. Richard Lynch
- President and Founder McCaw Cellular and Edge Wireless Wayne Perry, and
- Groundbreaking mobile network engineer Raj Singh.
The Wireless Hall of Fame Banquet always turns out the most gilt-edged attendee list in the North American mobile industry, and provides the best top-level networking opportunities of the entire MobileCon show. Plus it’s a great excuse to dress up: check out my blonde-bombshell look from the 2010 banquet, standing next to former Nextel colleague and 2010 Wireless Hall of Fame inductee Robert Marino of Syniverse (center). (Yes, that’s really my hair!)
Don’t miss this event. It’s worth the $250 ticket price — click here buy your ticket(s).
